July 5th, 2012, Grants Pass, OR: Swedish plugin developer Softube today released the latest in their series of classic hardware emulations, the prized Summit Audio EQF-100 Dual Tube Full Range Equalizer and the Grand Channel all-tube channel strip. Musicians have the choice of adding the fully-parametric stereo EQF as a stand-alone plugin or getting it paired with the TLA-100 compressor in the Grand Channel, a channel strip configuration that also features parallel compression, saturation control, and a low cut filter assignable to either the input or the detector circuit. Adding another layer of user-friendly functionality are switches for reversing the order of the plugins and for one or both of them to be bypassed.
Available for both Mac and PC, the EQF-100 and the Grand Channel are being launched with introductory prices of only $144.99 and $244.99, respectively (approximate street). The plugins are 32- and 64-bit compatible and support multiple formats, including AAX, AAX DSP, VST, VST3, AU, and RTAS.
As with all Softube plug-ins, the EQF-100 and Grand Channel were developed using advanced component modeling, wherein both the circuit components and the interaction of the components are modeled. This approach enables Softube to capture in detail the specific electronic and sonic behaviors of all the devices that contribute to the overall Summit sound and performance.
The introductory pricing runs through August 5th, 2012. After that, the prices go up to $199.99 and $299.99, respectively (approximate street). During the introductory promotion, current owners of the Summit Audio TLA-100 can upgrade to the Grand Channel for only $93.99. The upgrade will be priced at $149.99 when the promotion ends.
The Summit Audio EQF-100 and Grand Channel plugins are available now! Fully-functional 20-day trial versions can be downloaded at www.softube.com/demo.
