Tony SanFilippo is a life long musician, starting with drumsticks and a practice pad he received at age 3 from his great uncle Mario.  He started formal lessons in fourth grade and continued through a Bachelor of Music from Northern Illinois University.

Tony became interested in recording while in college.  He started on 4-track cassette machines, and later accepted a job at Shiny On Top Studios in Bloomington IL during the fall of 1996.  While there he helped build the studio business from ADATs to 2" 24-track analog tape. In 2001 he branched out and opened Oxide Lounge Recording where he continues to makes records with artists like Backyard Tire Fire, The Artist Formally Known as Vince, None Taken, Wiplot and many others.


Always the active musician, Tony is keeping a part-time accompanist position at Illinois State University.  He plays drum-set with the band Wiplot and bass with the Redgraves. Tony is a reviewer for TapeOp Magazine and is well known for his contributions around the web on various forums.
