Acumen Recordings, LLC was spawned in the late-summer of 2005 when Adam Bell and Kevin Weise met over burritos to discuss the future of their recording lives. After a couple months of planning and re-planning they decided that the best way to start off was to do what they knew best; record bands in a non-traditional setting. Helped by their location on the north east shore of Conesus Lake, the studio that developed from those meetings promises to be an unorthodox, yet comfortable setting in which to make music. Given its engineers' laid back style, it in no way could be classified as a traditional commercial recording studio; yet also considering the quality of work, dedication, and uniqueness inherent in their operation, to call it a home studio would be an insult. The studio itself bridges two worlds, and while armed with only a modest gear selection manages to cover any need that may arise in session. AR features two talented engineers with solid music backgrounds and experience in a wide variety of styles. Their commitment to learning the art not only of recording but the elements of what comprises a great song help them bring an insightful and thoughtful prospective to the music of those they record. Acumen will no doubt help you on your way to make a great record and relishes the opportunity to do so.
