Oz is in the house

It's so dark in here... Warren and Shane went over to the dark side of the force.

Good luck on your new venture guys.

I thought I'd tell everyone about me.

I live in Oklahoma. I am into recording as more of a composition tool than anything.

My most recent project was the Starkweather Boys. Please visit: http://www.myspace.com/thestarkweatherboys

I collaborated on this with Steve Beckett. He ended up doing most of the work. I don't think that the final project lived up to our personal standards. I know some of you heard the earlier demos from this project and I think you'd agree with me that those were better than the finished product. Interesting how that happens, isnt' it?

I also publish Mojo Pie. I try to write only about things I like. I try to only write things that tend to help a person who is more like myself, a person who views himself as a musician who is involved in recording as part of the creative process rather than capturing performances.

I think the best thing about recording today is that we've got some true artists who can do whatever they want because technology has freed them to create their art on their own terms without being beholden to anyone. On the other hand, technology has created access to the gear lust sub-culture part of recording. I'll give you an analogy and maybe you'll appreciate my comment. Imagine that you're 20 years old and male. You love women. However, rather than paying attention to your girlfriend, you spend all your time online looking at porno. Just so you know, a comment such as this one got me banned from all but one forum on another site.

I do wish Warren and Shane the best with their new venture. For those who don't know, Shane used to be on the sound crew for Britney Spears. It was a tough job. "Shane, can you check Britney's mic?" So, Shane goes over and in the midst of checking Britney's wireless mic gets to look in Britney's pants. He also ran sound for a network news crew.

Hey Oz!!
I lived in Altus OK. in 72-75. Its in the most southwestern corner.

I have to say, I dont miss it! But I also have to say, that after being thru so many tornados, I have been able to educate alot of people here in So.Cal. about earthquakes.

A sunny day when the earth shakes a bit, is nothing compared to the absolute hell of satanic purple clouds, and the devistating sound of a freight train coming to kill you!

AGGGHH!

The middle belt (or whatever its called) is scary to live in...plus the friggin' bugs are the size of coke cans!!

I liked it better when we didn't all know what the view in Britney's pants looked like.
