Thanks for sharing this! It's a great reference for anyone trying to prepare for the future! Those pushing the envelope of loudness are going to be in for a rude awakening with the new regulations for average loudness!

Hi there Alan, thanks for the approval. Strictly speaking there is a little ambiguity because many Vu meters are not always built the same, some only measure 1/2 the cycle so they do not measure quite the same. Additionally I have built in a touch of headroom into this digitally because Vu's show the RMS value and most DAW meters are instantaneous peak reading.
What it does do it allow someone who is starting out to make repeatably good recordings that are free of distortion and gives a relative to Vu perspective that works in practice. After all, unintentional distortion is just about the worst thing you can do to audio when recording. cheers
